Dear Clients, caregivers and referral sources,
In order to support the state’s efforts for social distancing during the time of COVID-19 (coronavirus), Watersedge Counselling has developed the following strategy to take this pandemic very seriously while still providing high quality services.
At this point, all scheduled therapy sessions will continue as planned as counselling is considered an essential service. Clients who wish to attend appointments but also decrease social contact can be seen through video conferencing technology. If you are interested in accessing services from your home or office through teleconferencing software, please let your therapist know directly. Some therapists may choose to only continue sessions through video conferencing technology and will contact you directly if this impacts you.
We have already increased our efforts to sanitize and disinfect high traffic areas and objects (e.g. light switches, door knobs, furniture, floors, restrooms, toys, etc.). These are being cleaned daily and additionally as needed. We are also sanitizing toys and therapy supplies regularly.
The use of sand trays will be suspended temporarily until the risks related to COVID-19 are much lower. We will also be requesting that only clients and the parents of young clients come into the building to reduce the number of people in the waiting area. In addition, we ask that clients wash their hands prior to sessions. If you or your child is feeling sick, or has been out of the country, please phone your therapist to inform us and stay home.
In order to support your child or a loved one who may be experiencing increased anxiety related to COVID-19, you might want to access the following documents:

All the steps we have taken are precautionary and preventative in nature. By following the state’s recommendations to increase social distance, we hope to do our part in supporting our clients through this difficult time.
Although this virus is not widespread in Geelong, we are taking the appropriate precautions and being aware. The public should not be alarmed, and we will be providing updates as required as additional information becomes available to us.
If you have any additional concerns or require special consideration, please feel free to contact your therapist. You can also book online here.
