If you have experienced an incident or period of time where you were significantly traumatised, then Trauma therapy is a doorway for you to experience healing and freedom.
As a trained and accredited TRTP practitioner, Duncan uses The Richards Trauma Process to resolve the impact of trauma, anxiety and depression through the use of hypnosis and the clients’ full commitment to participating in the process.
What is trauma?
When individuals experience a distressing or traumatic event in their lives, the body goes into the Fight, Flight or Freeze response. This results in the brain and other major organs having blood and oxygen drained from them in order for the body to survive. Due to this, the brain does not make a healthy memory of the negative event.
This results in the distressing incident not being processed correctly and being kept in the unconscious and body. It is as if the incident is on a 24/7 video loop and the person constantly feels unsafe and in danger, resulting in anxiety, depression and on occasions Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Dissociation.
Through the use of hypnosis, TRTP allows the unconscious and the body to deal with the distressing events and bring freedom from the past. TRTP does not require the trauma to be revisited or retold. The emphasis is on recovery not re-traumatisation.
TRTP (Trauma therapy) consists of three two-hour sessions:
Session 1 – Identifying and changing the negative unconscious core beliefs that we all have in our lives.
Session 2 – Dealing with the impact of past distressing events, telling the unconscious and body that the person is safe now.
Session 3 – Checking the progress and developing a new future for the individual.
