How to Create a Happiness Action Plan

How to Create a Happiness Action Plan

June 16, 2023 By Jessica Morris

Blog-June-16

How do you cope when you feel low? Do you dwell in your melancholy feelings and spiral? Maybe you deny your uncomfortable feelings and attempt to push through? Either way, you won’t experience peace and stability again until you take the steps to boost your mood.

If you resonate with this, the team at Happify created ‘The Happiness Action Plan.’ This fantastic guide pinpoints your mood, and then gives you action steps to experience happiness again. Created by Kwabena Blankson, MD, start by identifying which ‘zone’* you are in.

Green: Generally happy
Yellow: Feeling particularly sensitive and off
Red: In crisis and have lost all hope

From here, you have simple actions to improve your mood. These range from eating healthy to seeing a friend. And for those in the ‘red zone,’ calling a Lifeline or visiting the ER are vital.

So take a look at the Happiness Action Plan, and the create one for yourself. Whatever zone you find yourself in today, or next week, you have the tools to understand your brain and body. And that means you can practice self-care and ask for help. Remember, there’s no shame in any of the zones. Humans feel a range of emotions – your Happiness Action Plan is a reminder you are not alone in these moments, and that things can improve.
